The volcanic eruption of Eyjafjallajökull has unexpectedly extended my vacation in the Caribbean. My return flight happened to be the first day of the shutdown of European airspace. As there was little warning Virgin Atlantic arranged for passengers to be housed in nearby hotels. I was in the tropical paradise known as Tobago.
